Yolanda Martín of Barcelona is known for her poetic representation of air. Yolanda's paintings are as ethereal as the spiritual journey through her interior world of mysticism and symbolism. She views this world as matterless treasure, and she allows us to share this experience through her work. She works on wood or paper of her own making. Her paintings are very textural, often mistaken for collage, as she builds layer upon layer of transparent color.

Ms. Martín studied painting at the University of Barcelona, and has shown her work throughout the Mediterranean & other parts of Europe. In 2004, she was featured as part of an exhibit entitled "Air, Earth, Water" at the Instituto Cervantes in Chicago. She is currently studying towards a degree in arts therapy in Barcelona.
