From deep in the Basque country of northern Spain, Charo Yacob seeks to explain and embody the small, everyday moments and emotions of women and family life. She paints in her studio by memory, and in this way she is able to express her own world as a tale from life. Moments from her own family life are placed in some of her canvases. Her scenes of every day living are a tribute to her own deep values and sense of friendship, family & culture. Charo works in oil on canvas, building layer upon layer of transparent coats of paint, slowly revealing each painting's subject. The result is both rich and reachable, with red and green color overlays becoming as glossy as stained glass. Ms. Yacob's work is regularly exhibited throughout Spain, as well as in New York and Chicago.
