Phil & Kevin of the band, 1969, got a special treat recently at an anniversary airing of the famed movie, Easy Rider, which originally released in the year 1969. The guys met the film’s star, Peter Fonda. They got a photo with Peter and he got a 1969 CD! Catch 1969 at a number of upcoming dates in April and at many area fests this summer. |

Bully for Chicago
Both R-Gang and Billy Croft & The 5-Alarm provided pregame entertainment last month for the Chicago Bulls, to help pump up the crowd before the games. Billy and his co-horts also had the dance floor jumpin’ “country style” at a recent fundraiser for the Naperville Emerald Society, an association of policemen that promotes Irish culture. R-Gang ALWAYS has the dance floor jumpin’ with their old school R&B. Upcoming dates for both bands at Real Time Sports in St. Charles, so don’t miss the fun!

Graná's Got Talent
Well, we always knew that... and we think alot more people across the U.S. will soon know it too, as Grana’ and her band, TroubleMaker, qualified for the Celebrity Judge Audition of America’s Got Talent in Chicago, which takes place in late April. They’ll perform for judges Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne and, new this season, Howie Mandel. Celebrity auditions will be taped, with this season’s 2-hr premiere airing on Tue & Wed, June 1-2. Keep your fingers crossed, but we think the judges will love Grana’ as much as the show’s producers did at her initial audition!
Members of the Third Unitarian Church in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood got a little taste of the blues from Grana’ and her band at a special blues service in their landmark building commemorating African American History Month. This historic, socially-activist congregation supports local music by hosting special music-themed services throughout the year featuring a wide selection of musical genre. More of these to come in the future, and everyone is welcome!
